At it's simplest, advocacy is all about fighting for student needs. As the official student voice on campus, NWPSA ensures that students receive the representation that they deserve. We advocate at institutional, municipal, provincial and federal levels for student needs.

NWPSA also appoints two student voices to the Board of Governors, the highest decision making authority in the institution.

The Alberta Students' Executive Council (ASEC) is a provincial advocacy organization representing the interests of 110,000 students from 17 post-secondary institutions across Alberta. ASEC is a place where students learn, lead, and work together to create innovative solutions for Alberta's post-secondary sector.

NWPSA is a proud member of ASEC which allows us to hear relevant student issues and advocate to the provincial government with a focus on accessibility, inclusivity and affordability of education.
