Executive Council

Melly Pack is second year business student and has recently decided that the diploma is not enough. So, she is currently working towards a business degree. She joined the Students Association in October of 2022 and was working as the VP Internal before running for the President’s position.  

She was raised in Sexsmith until she was a teenager at which point her family moved to Grande Prairie. She is very familiar with the local community, which is why she decided to come home to go to school. 

Melly loves to travel and has been to many places around the world. This year she is excited to be going to PEI and Scotland, which are both places she has never been before. 

She has learned so much in the last 8 months advocating for the student body and cannot wait to get into it again in the new school year.  

Melly plans on having an open-door policy while being in the President’s position and hopes that all students will take advantage by stopping in to have a chat. 

When she is not in the office you can find her golfing, playing water polo, singing karaoke, playing her guitar, or out at somebody of water just enjoying herself. 

Hala Ezzeddine has been a student at Northwestern Polytechnic since 2018. She is in her second year of the Bachelor of Education degree with the goal of becoming a high school drama & English teacher. She has been involved in several on campus events through the student ambassador program and was awarded the “Volunteer of the Year award” in 2023. This is her first year with the Students Association and she is excited to learn and to grow with the executive team and elevate students’ voices.

She is passionate about making a change on campus and around my community. She has experience in retail & leadership roles. In her free time, she enjoys K-pop, K-Dramas and grabbing bubble tea with friends.  

Jake Rakestraw has been at Northwestern Polytechnic since 2021. He is working towards his Bachelor of Social Work with the goal of becoming involved in making positive and meaningful changes within the sector. He has been working with the community since he was younger, focusing specifically on the houseless population, youth, and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. He was born in Atlanta Georgia, but moved to Grande Prairie when he was six, and has absolutely loved becoming so involved within the local community. This is his first year with the Students Association, and he cannot wait to learn and grow with the team and help make life better for students. In his free time, you can usually find him playing video games, working with his organization (PFLAG), or hanging out with friends.
